AFP Triad Membership Scholarships

The NC-Triad AFP Chapter is pleased to offer one Professional scholarship in June 2019 so a non-member has the opportunity to experience the value of AFP at no initial cost. This scholarship requires the candidate to complete an application and have a current member sponsor the application. AFP Members, please encourage someone you know to apply for this scholarship by forwarding this information to non-members who might qualify.

The deadline for submitting this application is noon on Friday, June 21, 2019. Scholarship recipients will be notified by June 30 for the one-year membership to start in July 2019.

Types of scholarships:
Professional
and Young Professional

Professional – The Professional scholarship is a one year renewable scholarship. The second year requires a commitment by the employer of the scholarship recipient or the recipient to pay half. The first year, AFP will pay the entire $290 membership fee. Based on participation as an active member the scholarship recipient will be eligible to apply for a second year. The second year, the employer or the recipient will pay half the membership fee and AFP would pay the remaining half. To be reciprocal the scholarship recipients must agree to actively serve on a board committee. The scholarship recipient may be asked to serve as a member of the Triad Chapter Board of Directors at some point during the scholarship. Recipients must also agree to attend monthly AFP meetings for the duration of the scholarship and otherwise be an active member.

Young Professional – The Young Professional scholarship can be applied for by persons 30 years old or younger. Applicants may work in a development position or be seeking employment in the development field. The Young Professional scholarship is a one year renewable scholarship. The first year, AFP will pay the entire $95 Young Professional membership fee. Based on participation as an active member the scholarship recipient will be eligible to apply for a second year. The second year, the employer or the recipient will pay $45 and AFP will pay $50 of the membership fee. Scholarship recipients must agree to actively serve on a board committee. The scholarship recipient may be asked to serve as a member of the Triad Chapter Board of Directors at some point during the scholarship.  Recipients must also agree to attend monthly AFP meetings for the duration of the scholarship and otherwise be an active member.
