We encourage non-profit organizations to partner in developing nominations, and we recommend that you complete a draft of your nomination in a Word document and copy and paste in to the nomination forms. Supplemental information (letters of support, photos, etc.) may be submitted as part of this nomination and directions for that are on each nomination form. Please note that nominators will be asked to assist the National Philanthropy Day Committee in gathering additional information (quotes, interviews, photos, etc.) about Award recipients to be used during the Award presentation.

Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser
This award honors an individual or family who demonstrates outstanding leadership and skills in coordinating and motivating groups of donors and volunteers for fundraising projects in our community, making a measurable impact on community philanthropy. FORM LINK

Outstanding Fundraising Professional
This award honors an outstanding individual fundraising professional and AFP member whose leadership exemplifies ethical and effective professional practice and whose performance enhances the philanthropic resources of the organization for which he or she serves. Nominees demonstrate strong commitment to philanthropy, volunteerism, and continuing education, and have actively worked as a professional fundraiser for at least 10 years prior to nomination. Outstanding Business in Philanthropy
This award honors a business — regardless of its size — that demonstrates outstanding community commitment through philanthropic support and the encouragement and motivation of others, both inside and outside of the corporation, to take leadership roles in philanthropic and community involvement. Please note: Businesses with corporate-funded foundations must apply through the Outstanding Philanthropic Organization nomination process. FORM LINK

Outstanding Philanthropic Organization
This award honors a civic organization, corporate or private foundation, grant making service organization, donor circle, or affinity group that demonstrates outstanding philanthropic commitment to the nonprofit organization(s) or larger community it supports. This /organization should be a role model of philanthropic activity serving many segments of the community. FORM LINK

Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy
This award recognizes an individual (under age 21) or youth organization where a majority of members and/or leaders under age 21 and whose philanthropic efforts (through fundraising and direct financial support, development of charitable programs, volunteering, and/or community leadership) demonstrate the spirit of philanthropy and set an example for others to follow. The nominee demonstrates an outstanding commitment to community service. FORM LINK


Outstanding Emerging Philanthropist
This award recognizes an individual (age 22-40) or organization where a majority of members and/or leaders between ages of 22 and 40, for exceptional generosity and civic responsibility by demonstrating significant philanthropic contributions within the larger community. The recipient’s generosity and leadership should motivate and engage others. FORM LINK

Lifetime Achievement in Philanthropy
If you are interested in nominating someone for this award, please complete the appropriate Outstanding Philanthropist nomination form listed above, supplementing the nomination with information on the lifetime of exemplary service to our community. This award honors an individual or family for exceptional generosity and civic responsibility by demonstrating significant philanthropic contributions within the larger community. The recipient’s generosity and leadership should motivate and engage others. The selection for this award is based upon nominations received in the three Outstanding Philanthropist categories.
